Portela Bridge is a special centenary structure that allows the crossing of the Mondego River upstream of Coimbra, connecting the city to Beira Road.
As part of the intervention of the Subconcessão Pinhal Interior, this bridge was rehabilitated and requalified for pedestrian crossing.
The intervention carried out was based on the reinforcement and application of coating system in the steel structures of the existing decks, reduction of the deck slab width to reduce the overall weight of the structure, reformulation of the drainage system, repaving the circulation platform and rehabilitation of the masonry piers and abutments.
