The Transmontana Highway or Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro Highway (A4) is a Portuguese highway that links Porto (Matosinhos) to Bragança (on the Quintanilha border). It is an integral part of the IP4 and the European Road E82. It is currently the most important connection to the interior north of the Douro River, connecting the metropolitan area of Porto to the region of Trás-os-Montes and the border of Quintanilha, over an extension of 223 km.

The project included all the studies and designs necessary for the construction of seven Viaducts and fifteen Over and Under Passages.

With the exception of viaducts V4 and V5, all the remaining viaducts have a two beams prestressed concrete deck slab constructed using falsework. For viaducts V4 and V5, the bridge cross section is a box girder, constructed using a balanced cantilever system.
