The Herdade do Esporão complex sought, through a series of interventions, to remodel existing spaces, with the aim of implementing new interior configurations, as well as expanding the buildings, with a new entrance block for wine tourism, a block for service to workers, located to the west, and a block of annexes that, in plan, complete a rectangular perimeter together with the existing blocks, enclosing an outside patio.
The spaces to be erected from scratch spread throughout the total construction area, diverging in their functionality. The East is complemented by the existing building at the ground level with extensions of the blocks that flank the cloister. Between the two wings of the cloister, 13m apart, there is an entrance block that fills the eastern polygonal face of the cloister.
At the structural level, the strong presence of timber stands out.
