This work was designed to establish a pedestrian connection between the Malvarosa neighbourhood and Auchan, over the EN 10, at Km 129+700, in Alverca do Ribatejo.
The footbridge develops along a straight alignment with 36.15m free span, defined between the two abutments. The choice of the structural solution for the footbridge deck was conditioned by the construction process, taking into account the non-interruption of traffic on the EN 10 national road, including the fact that the deck assembly was expected to take place at night.

The deck is entirely made of steel, consisting of a central beam with a rectangular section, manufactured from steel plates of varying thickness, with a width of 300mm and a total height of 1400mm. The deck structure is made up of tubular profiles with square and rectangular sections of the RHS type, constituting latticed structures in plan, which ensure the horizontal rigidity of this element.

The east abutment is made up of a set of consecutive 1.50m in width ramps, supported between beams, with a constant gradient of 6.0%, overcoming the differences in level between intermediate landings, establishing the connection between the level of the deck and the level of the ground on the east side of the EN 10, and next to the access staircase, which allows the connection to Auchan. The west abutment, on the Malvarosa side, consists of only two ramps, cantilevered on the central wall, overcoming the unevenness between the ground and the level of the deck. All the structural elements of the abutments are in reinforced concrete, consisting of walls, beams and slabs.
