The Póvoa de Santo Adrião Health Unit is a space where the Personalized Health Care Unit, the Family Health Unit, the Continuous Care Unit and the Service and Urgent Treatments Centre are gathered.
It consists of a two-storey building with a roof terrace. The framed structures are in reinforced concrete, with solid flat slabs and peripheral beams. From a structural point of view, the building comprises two distinct structural blocks with similar dimensions.
On the ground floor, most of the façades consist of an exposed reinforced concrete layer, with the thermal insulation being achieved from the inside. On the 1st floor, the facades are characterized by a reinforced concrete frame, columns growing over the walls of the lower floor, and the covering of the structural elements guaranteed by the outside through composite elements, like Celenit.
The existence of a 3.50m cantilever at the west end of the building led to a solution of prestressed slabs, with non-adherent prestress, to control the deformation.
