The upgrading of the Nkakhwa-Livingstonia road (T305/S103) comprises about 46km of paved road and the construction of several bridges and hydraulic box culverts crossings.
The new road cross section corresponds to a 2x1 with 9.20m width, with one lane in each traffic direction of 3.10m width and 1.50m shoulders.
The requalification of this road included, in some parts, improving the original layout of the existing road, and paving it in its entirely length. This intervention allowed to shorten travel times from Livingstonia to the main roadways located along Lake Malawi.
Several structures were built, as bridges, with decks composed by precast girders, and hydraulic box culverts crossings.
