The motorway to access the ALNG’s Kwanda Base in Soyo, is 7.2km long. It is a paved road constructed over 2 different types of landfills: the savannah area (along 5.1km) and the mangal area (along 1.5km).
The global project included 6 hydraulic structures for transversal drainage, 5 tidal passages, the crossing of Kinwika road and the intersection of a pipeline, for which a rigid pavement was designed to crossover it.
The roadway allows for 2 traffic lanes, each one 3.50m wide, and road shoulders with 1.50m.
The slopes are, in general, covered with vegetal material and protected with rockfill, in order to prevent scour in sensitive areas exposed to tides and currents.
The foundations of the hydraulic passages were improved with French substrate-drainage type.
