The Nuno Krus Abecasis Centre is an APCL equipment, located in Alto do Lumiar, with social response in the area of disability, covering the valences of Residential Home and Occupational Activities Centre.
The building was placed in lot 27.1.50, on a steep slope. It has a basement, a partially buried floor (Floor 0), three upper floors and a non-accessible roof terrace. Access to the building is via an exterior ramp that allows car access to Floor 0, on the East elevation, or on the North elevation, on Floor 1, via an exterior staircase. The interior accesses are established by an interior staircase and a lift, serving all floors.
It consists of reinforced concrete framed structures, formed by columns and two core walls, one surrounding the lift and the other the staircase, with the crossbeams ensured by flat slabs. At the periphery, the slabs are topped by beams or solid edges with the appropriate geometry for the formation of the window head and sills. The foundations are shallow foundations by spread footings.
