11th CRP – Portuguese Road and Rail Congress
Betar was present at the sessions where the challenges of the Road and Railway Infrastructure sector were discussed
The 11th CRP – Portuguese Road and Rail Congress, which took place at the LNEC Congress Center, in Lisbon, between May 13th and 15th, was attended by Betar and several members of the technical and scientific community of the road and rail sectors.
Under the motto “Sustainability and Resilience”, the main problems of the sector were debated in several plenary and parallel sessions with the aim of finding solutions for the Road and Railway Infrastructure of the different participating countries.
In addition to the stand, where we presented our projects, Betar was represented by Tiago Mendonça at the Plenary Session of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries) and in two parallel sessions, where we shared our experience and knowledge.
Eng. Sérgio Costa gave a detailed presentation on the tools we have developed, which introduce AI (artificial intelligence) and 3D models in the management of Works of Art, in the session entitled “Evolution and innovation in the management of Bridges, a vision of the future”.
Eng. Tomás Faria presented case studies related to internal expansive reactions in concrete. Taking as an example the rehabilitation of two viaducts in Barranco dos Ribeiros and one in Barranco dos Brejões, the projects were described, with special emphasis on the pathologies and repair solutions associated with those reactions.
